MEET THE FOUNDERS: AIMEÉ HOWELLS

My passion for THRIVE stems from my mission to drive social mobility and impact through the business of sport. 

I’ve spent my career spanning two decades on the Global business stage after leaving South Wales in pursuit for a career beyond the factories of my local town. 

In those two decades I have worked for network agencies, rights holders, start-up, and scale-up organisations, and as a woman from working class roots, that has experienced all dynamics of business, I feel like I have a responsibility to drive change to empower more diverse talent to own the stage.

Through my Global experience in sport, I know that sport has the power to change society, with clubs and associations acting as the heartbeat of communities, the identity of local towns, civic inheritance and economic assets.

However, the business of sport doesn’t always represent society, with the ownership often the playground of the rich with the wrong people holding the power. 

With this the systems set-up tend to be indifferent and not fit for purpose, such as athlete welfare and aftercare. 

That’s where the idea of THRIVE was born.

THRIVE is an athlete community and consultancy that is on a mission to unlock business opportunities for athletes from all backgrounds and sports, in parallel with their sporting careers.  

I believe in the power of community and am passionate about providing underrepresented and underserved athletes with pathways to thrive beyond their respected sport; by de-risking dreams, creating social impact, driving social mobility and delivering economic sustainability through everything that we touch.

I am so proud to go on this journey with my co-founders Joe Davis and Tim Alexander who both bring incredible lived experience to the mission, alongside our assembled team of passionate change agents that want to see a better tomorrow
