MEET THE FOUNDERS: JOE DAVIS

My passion for THRIVE stems from first-hand experience. 

It took me a couple of years to find my feet after stepping away from a 10-year career in football, and that was largely through my own self-discovery. 

When I left Port Vale in 2019, I knew I needed to be proactive in starting my next chapter away from the game. 

I had a clear idea of what I was interested in, but lacked the community and tools to turn it into something tangible - nor did I know where to look for support. 

Over the past few years, I’ve seen many of my former team mates go through a similar transition experience - either falling into a job because it was the first option presented, or having a year or two trying to understand what direction to go down, all while trying to keep themselves financially afloat and form a new identity. 

That’s where the idea for THRIVE was born.

I envision a world where athletes connect with brands through shared passions and purpose, using their influence to make a real impact in both local and national communities.

I envision a world where athletes help brands unlock new audiences, co-create purpose-driven products and build businesses together.

I envision a world where athletes become founders, advisors, investors and creators - thriving beyond their playing careers and building the foundations for their post-sport lives with a strong support network around them.

I couldn’t be more excited to embark on this journey alongside Tim Alexander, Aimee Howells and the incredible team we’ve built.
